Notes 8/29

8/29
1. First thing to remember: repetition is a good thing!! Repetition occurs a LOT in the Bible, and is a great way to pound things into our heads : )
2. "Originary" means the first, and therefore the model for which every other subsequent thing is a copy
3. "In illo tempore" is Latin for "the beginning"
4. "Hyperborean" means from the north. i.e. the majority of our class.
5. The word "myth" comes from the Greek word "mythos" which translates to "story.
6. The Old Testament will always be referred to as the "Hebrew Bible" or "Hebrew Scriptures" as "Old Testament" implies that there is also a "New Testament," and not all religions believe this to be true.
